Description

Geo. III silver three piece tea set; of bellied, rectangular form, with foliate engraved decoration to the waist. Gadroon borders, gilded interiors to the sugar and cream, each piece resting on four cast paw feet. This fine set was presented, by her brother, to Isabella Edmond on her marriage into the Balfour family in December 1817; the presentation inscription is on the underside. Each piece has a monogramme on one side and a vacant cartouche on the other.This fine set is typical of it's period and of particularly high quality, with a charming history.
